What does Jodocid Eco?
Jodocid Eco helps prevent heating in mixed rations and silage. It inhibits microbial activity that causes the feed to heat up and lose quality after being removed from the silo or mixed.
As a result, the feed stays fresh and palatable longer. This helps minimize the loss of nutritional value and supports good feed intake and nutrient digestion.
Jodocid Eco can be used with both dairy and beef cattle and is certified for use in organic farming.
Trial with Jodocid Eco
This test is very valuable for this product page because it clearly demonstrates what “heat resistance” means.
Incubation postponed until approximately 10 p.m.
In a test, the temperature change of TMR was monitored at an ambient temperature of 20 °C. Without Jodocid Eco, the temperature rose by 10 °C within 12 hours.
At a low dosage of Jodocid Eco, reaching this critical threshold was delayed until approximately 22 hours. At a dosage of 4 kg per metric ton, the +10 °C threshold had not yet been reached even after 24 hours.
How does it work?
Jodocid® Eco combines three organic acids, each with a specific preservative effect:
- Formic acid: Helps prevent bacterial growth.
- Acetic acid: Helps prevent bacterial growth and the development of yeasts and molds.
- Propionic acid: Helps prevent the growth of yeasts and molds.
This combined effect inhibits microbial activity in the feed. As a result, the rise in temperature—and thus the onset of heating—is delayed.
Composition
Jodocid Eco contains a combination of organic acids:
- Formic acid: to inhibit bacterial growth
- Acetic acid: inhibits bacterial growth, yeasts, and molds
- Propionic acid: effective against yeasts and molds

Recommended dosage
2–10 kg per metric ton of feed. The required dosage depends on environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

- Keep the temperature below 40 °C
- Use within 24 months after opening
