What does Acibet® TMR?
Acibet® TMR is a scalding inhibitor specially developed for mixed rations (TMR) and ensiled roughage. It works at two levels:
- Maintain feed quality: prevents scalding (heating), fermentation and mold – feed stays fresh and tasty longer
- Stopping feed value loss: prevents protein breakdown and energy loss due to microbial activity
- Increase feed intake: tastier feed = higher feed intake by cows
- Stimulate rumen function: natural betaine promotes microbial protein synthesis in the rumen
How does it work?
Acibet® TMR works through a combination of organic acids and natural betaine:
Formic acid inhibits bacterial growth in the ration and slows warming.
Acetic acid inhibits bacterial growth as well as yeast and mold – two of the main causes of scalding in TMR.
Propionic acid specifically targets yeast and mold formation, the main contributors to visible scalding at the top of the feed mix.
Natural betaine stimulates rumen fermentation and microbial protein synthesis, further improving feed utilization.
Trial result: at 2 kg Acibet® TMR/ton, the temperature rise after 24 hours was limited to +5°C, compared with +20°C in the control group. At 4 kg/ton, the effect was even stronger.

Acibet® TMR contains:
- Organic acids:
- Formic acid – inhibits bacterial growth
- Acetic acid – inhibits bacterial growth, yeast and mold formation
- Propionic acid – prevents yeast and mold growth
- Natural betaine – promotes rumen fermentation and microbial protein synthesis
