Ruval®
Ruval® is a betaine source for cattle that supports rumen fermentation and promotes feed intake through natural betaine and organic acids. High in protein, highly digestible and available in four varieties – from basic version to broth inhibitor with rumen energy.

Ruval is a liquid feed from Jodoco with a high protein and low phosphorus content. It replaces soybean meal and/or brewer’s grains and rapeseed meal. In the summer months, the ration stays fresh and its sticky properties reduce segregation.

What does Ruval®?
Ruval® is a liquid betaine source for cattle that supports rumen fermentation and promotes feed intake. It combines natural betaine with organic acids and provides a high-protein, highly digestible supplement to the ration:
- More DVE: stimulates microbial protein synthesis and increases the amount of intestinal digestible protein
- Improved rumen activity: promotes digestion of dry rations and stimulates production of volatile fatty acids such as propionic acid and acetic acid
- Higher milk production: positive effect on milk production proven in trial
- TMR mixing properties: paste properties improve base ration mixing, less selection by cows
- Heat stress support: osmotically active properties of betaine support animals during heat stress
How does it work?
Ruval® works through two main components:
Natural betaine stimulates rumen fermentation and microbial protein synthesis, resulting in more DVE (intestinal digestible protein) from the rumen. As an osmolyte, betaine supports animals during heat stress.
Organic acids (in Ruval® Plus and Max) inhibit scalding in the ration, improve TMR stability and support a healthy rumen environment.
Tripe-available energy (in Ruval® Boost and Max) provides directly absorbable glucogenic energy for the rumen – similar to the action in Glycoboost.
Trial result Ruval® Plus: an increase of +9.8% milk production was measured after 5 weeks of use, increasing to +10% after week 9, compared to the control group.
